Call for proposals for the Sustainable Water Fund (FDW III)
The Sustainable Water Fund programme (FDW III) is a Public-Private Partnership facility which aims to contribute to water safety and water security in developing countries. The deadline for submission of concept notes is 31 December 2016. Full proposals are to be submitted before 27 February 2017.
FDW supports collective initiatives between governmental bodies, industry and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) that focus on the following subthemes:
- Improved access to drinking water and sanitation (including solid waste)
- Efficient and sustainable water use, particularly within agriculture
- Safe deltas and improved basin management.
This contributes to long term sustainable economic growth, self-reliance and poverty reduction.

Deadline for submission
The third period of FDW consists of two rounds. December 31, 2016 is the deadline for submitting your concept note for the first round. Participation in this phase is a prerequisite to be able to submit a complete proposal in 2017. Within four weeks upon your submission, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO.nl) will study and provide an opinion on your concept note (including call). The deadline for full proposals in this round is February 27, 2017 (at 15:00).
The Sustainable Water Fund will subsidize up to 60% of the total project budget (up to 70% for projects focussing on improved river basin management and safe deltas). The maximum subsidy amount is EUR 3,000,000 per project. The remainder will be financed by the partnership itself.
